Is there a benefit to walking or riding, using a caddy, carrying your own clubs or using a pushcart in golf???

“YES!”
Neil Wolkodoff posted the following results Feb 19, 2009 looking at several men with a handicaps ranging from 2-17 using various means of transportation (walking or riding in a cart) and means of transporting their clubs (on a cart, using a caddy, using a pushcart or on their shoulders). He looked at these golfers over a period of time during 9-hole outings.
Among the findings were the following numbers (remember, these are based on 9-holes);
Calories Burned
• Walking: 721
• Using push cart: 718
• Using caddie: 613
• Riding: 411
Miles Walked
• Not riding in cart: 2.5 (18 holes 5 miles or 6,500 yards)
• Riding in cart: 0.5
Average Scores
• Using push cart: 40
• Using caddie: 42
• Riding: 43
• Carrying bag: 45
Many golf purists argue that walking the golf course is not only better for your health (no doubt about that), but also better for your score. The thinking is that when walking the course, the golfers sees more. He or she takes in what lies ahead of them on the hole, has time to consider options and to think about club and shot selection.
This study certainly bolsters that argument. Walking the course with a pushcart or with a caddie both produced lower average scores than riding in a cart. Walking while carrying one's own bag yielded the highest average scores, however, which likely has to do with the extra physical exertion required. That causes the golfer to tire more quickly and also, Wolkodoff surmises, increase instances of lactic acid build-up in the muscles. When lactic acid increases, fine motor skills decrease, and fine motor skills are what are required for the precise motions of the golf swing.
If you’re like any of us here at Tried and Tru we look for ways to be self-sufficient, lower our score, get new gear, save money and not waist time. We’ve decide that a pushcart will meet our needs. After all, do does your club offer a caddy and if so do you really want a stranger following you around for 3-5 hours listening to your conversation, talking nonsense and giving you bad advice? Does your caddy really know the course? What can he or she tell you that a GPS can’t? Is their game some much better than yours that they should be giving you advice? With that said, Tried and Tru loves the idea of a pushcart so we went out to find the best to share with you our viewers. Our result was the CLICGEAR 3.0. We love this cart for several reasons; **
#1 Virtually Maintenance Free (airless tires=no flat tires)!
#2 EASY to use (see folding video)

#4 Compact Folding Size (easy to transport and store 13”x15”x24”)
#5 Lightweight / Strong (18lbs, made of aircraft grade aluminum tubing for light weight lifting but heavy enough to keep balanced (#1 problem with other carts was tipping))
