Running Light, GoMotion Sternum LED Light
Share/Save

Spring has sprung and Tried and Tru has been busy testing gear. One of the items we’ve been anxious to preview is the Sternum LED Light by GoMotion.  **CLICK IMAGE FOR ADDITIONAL DETAILS AND VIDEO**

We were skeptical at first but once we securely attached the Sternum light we were sold. It doesn’t work like your traditional light having a narrow beam with lots of motion. The Sternum Light Kit attaches across the sternum via Velcro straps to the shoulder straps of most packs and has quick release snaps so the light can stay on your pack when you take it off. The patented GoMotion Light features a 110° beam angle adjustment, unique narrow-to-wide beam focus with a rotary dial and (3) brightness settings. The GoMotion light weighs only 1 ounce connected to an external battery pack powered by 3 AA Energizer batteries that can be stored in a side pocket or other backpack pocket. The battery box has a built-in flashing red LED lights for visibility to oncoming vehicles when approaching from the rear (now required for night running for safety). Other features include a built-in battery management system designed into the mode button with an LED notification system that changes from a green to a red when the battery reaches 10% battery life. An advanced heat sink system at the back of the light module allows the user to run the light on High beam for as long as desired without overheating, keeping the light cool to the touch.

Sited by experts and novice runners as “the most innovative lighting solution to hit the outdoor market since the headlamp and a lot more comfortable.”

Not only is the GoMotion sternum light ideal for long relays (ie Ragnar or Hood to Coast) but it’s ideal for an early morning stride or late night jog. The GoMotion sternum light can help you discover the pleasures, solitude and peace that can only be found with your thoughts fostering a new found love for running, hiking or walking in the dark.

(always be aware of your surrounds and carry a backup light (like the photon II micro light) for those unexpected situations)
